GENERAL ISSUES:
There are several common, core issues that many people struggle with and often find it helpful to discuss in therapy.
Anxiety for many is chronic and sometimes debilitating, and often takes on different forms. It can strike in school or work situations, for instance. Or during interpersonal interactions or in crowds. Or just thinking about a sensitive subject matter. Anxiety can exert an incredible force upon ourĀ bodies, such as increased heart rate, blood pressure, muscle spasms or tension, sweating, and/or difficulty in breathing. It is the fight-flight-freeze system responding to a state of fear. Processing the source of and reason for these fears and developing an ongoing action plan for the future can help reduce the impact anxiety has on our day to day life.
Other issues that often come up for many clients includes depression, sleep disturbances, chronic feelings of emptiness, obsessiveness, compulsivity, anger management, personality disorders, career issues, relationship issues, infidelity, sexual dysfunction and other issues, life transitions, trauma, PTSD, chronic pain, and substance misuse.
