Scarlet is a 15-year-old, miniature American Eskimo dog (AKA German Spitz). Though she began her life as an unholy terror unparalleled in destructive force and with distinctly problematic bladder control issues due to her anxiety and over-submissiveness, Scarlet is now a well-adjusted treatment companion. On days that she’s in the office, she often sits at a client’s feet, occasionally ask for a few pets, share her thoughts on people who shut doors in manner not to her liking, and may even be brave and ask to sit with you.
Though not licensed officially as a therapy dog, for many clients Scarlet often provides emotional support during their sessions. The presence of an animal can be helpful and grounding to clients especially during tough sessions or if they are anxious. She just loves to be petted and doted upon.
Since joining my private practice in 2014, she herself has worked through her submissive bladder issues through spending time with so many wonderful and friendly people. Please feel free to request her for your sessions. She’s a cheerful, loving, and loyal companion with whom I’m privileged to work.
